Now that the presents are unwrapped and dishes are done it’s time to relax. But wait 2009 is just around the corner and so is the dreaded New Year Resolution. Sure everyone says they are going to get to the gym more often, quit smoking, save more money et cetera but how can you actually follow though with them this time?
Here are a couple of ways to get it done:
#1 WRITE IT DOWN This may be the single most important piece of advise I can give you when it comes to achieving your goals or resolutions. Once something is in writing you are more committed to achieveing the results. If forces accountability.
#2 TELL EVERYONE YOUR GOAL When you share your goal with friends and family they will help keep you on the right track. If your goal is to loose weight and your friends see you reaching for the potatoe chips they will help remind you how detrimental that is to your success.
#3 SET STEPS TO YOUR GOAL Achieving a large scale goal is hard work and everyone needs a little help along the way. By setting steps in your goal you have small measureable victories that will eventually enable you to achieve the larger goal.
I hope this helps you achieve all you can wish for in 2009.
What are your resolutions for 2009?
I’d like to know.
Holiday Shopping Guide

Holiday Shopping Guide
by Scott Lukaitis
As the parts and accessory manager at Freehold Honda the holiday shopping season is upon us. Mostly due to the current economic situation it seems like people are starting their holiday shopping earlier than usual. With that in mind here are some great gift ideas that have come across my desk in the last couple of weeks.
One of the popular gifts that we have seen already this season is the Go Pro Hero Wide angle Camera At $199.99 this unit is a self contained video recording masterpiece. Used this season by the Yamaha Factory motocross team as well as many privateers the kit comes ready to use for your shot at You Tube Fame.
Another popular gift this season is the Club Brace by Leatt Brace. This helmet for your neck has become a requirement for racers and play riders alike as safety has become more and more inmportant to the riding commiunity. Leatt braces are worn by many top professional riders and at $395.00 it is money well spent.
Some less expensive holiday gifts that have been popular so far are the latest DVD’s recently released. Every year around mid-November the latest batch of Quad DVD’s hit the shelf. Quad Jockeys 2, The Fallout: Reloaded and the ever popular Huevos series, this time with the eleventh installment, are due daily. And who can forget about the latest from Travis Pastrana and his friends. Nitro Circuis 6, Thrill Billies hit the shelves this week and as they say the rest is history. Another great video from the Nitro Circuis Crew.
Another trend we are seeing this season is the gift of preventative maintence. Although unwrapping a case of oil or a box of oil filters on Christams morning isn’t as exciting as an Xbox, the thought behind keeping your quad running is a practical one.
And last but not least keep your expensive quad battery healthy all winter long with a Battery Tender. This important piece of winter maintenance is often over looked and by doing so can cost you. Save money this spring with a little winter maintenance.
Hopefully this will help you with your holiday shopping. So take some time and stop in your local friendly ATV dealer and let them help you with your holiday shopping needs.
Happy Holidays!!!

Get the TV warmed up
November 4, 2008
My regular job as parts manager at Freehold Honda allows for some interesting fringe benefits. Among them is checking out all of the new DVD’s that come out this time of year.
In addition to the gaggle of motocross year in review and streetbike wheelie flicks I get the opportunity to check out some great Quad DVD’s as well.
As the snow starts to pile up outside and it’s too cold to ride grab a bucket of popcorn and check out some of these new flicks coming this winter and fall. [Read more]

Follow up and Gratitude
September 26, 2008
Follow up
After you get a sponsor and have been racing regularly you need to let them know how you are doing. Many sponsors would like a monthly report of your progress. Check with the rider support director, you do know who they are right and see how often they want them. You should include results from the last month, a well written race report, don’t forget to spell check it, and a couple of professional quality action photos of you putting their product to good use. Many riders do not go this extra mile and I have found that by building this quality relationship with the team director the sponsorship is more beneficial to both you and the sponsor.
Gratitude
Don’t forget to say Thank you. All the time. Thank them when you get the sponsorship deal, thank them when you get the product, that you thank them for their support at the end of each race report and most importantly at the end of the season for all of their help. Many local newspapers and some national publications will offer a year end special on classified ads for thank you notes to sponsors. This is money well spent.
So that’s all there is to being a sponsored rider. Now go out and get some sponsors and sell their product.

Your role as a sponsored rider.
September 22, 2008
Your role as a sponsored rider is to sell the sponsors product or service. Your JOB, yes it is a job, is to always be telling people about the features and benefits of your sponsors stuff. You do know what the features and benefits are, right? You need to spend the time and become familiar with what they do and what they sell. You should always have their products presented in a positive image. When you are a representative of company XYZ you need to be sure that your quad or bike is clean and professional looking. Your gear and pit area are professional in appearance. And most of all your attitude is professional. No more horsing around getting in dirt fights with your buddies. You are a professional now.
